The main VGP3 simulation screen is divided into four areas:

  • The top left window displays a view of the 3d world. You can change view by using the keys assigned to these actions (by default, ‘1’ - ‘4’ numeric keys)
  • The bottom left panel is used to chat in online races (disabled in standalone races)
  • The top right buttons bring you the Options and Car Setup menu. The Options menu is a subset of the more complete Options menu available from the starting screen, because some features cannot be changed while in-game. The Car Setup menu opens the toolbox and lets you tune the car settings
  • Finally, the bottom right corner controls the event, showing the current standings of all the drivers and a couple of buttons; the first is used to restart the event, the second “closes” the current session and goes to the next one. Pay attention to the fact that, if you join an online event, you have no control over the sessions (only the server has). You can join and leave an online event at any time, depending on the settings the server may choose to keep your previous position/laps or to reset your data if you leave and join again the same event.

From the main VGP3 simulation screen you may either enter (bottom right button) the cockpit and start a driving session or abandon (bottom left button) the event.

Note: if you’re hosting the event and you choose to abandon it, the server will be shut down and all the clients will be forced to disconnect.
